Another S/S12 offering from French house is the Longchamp Orchidéal collection, which I hear will be released in Singapore come April 2012. Inspired by Vietnamese orchid plantations, it is also apparently a symbol of feminine beauty in the country.
Made of cotton (as opposed to the nylon blend in the regular Le Pliage bags) and topped off with leather handles, what’s interesting is the fact that I’ve always thought that orchids were more synonymous with Singapore rather than Vietnam. Then again, that would be no better than Malaysia saying they invented chilli crab.
But back to the bags at hand. Available in Deep Purple or Green and they come in 5 regular Le Pliage sizes, from the smallest handbag to the largest travel bag, so you’ll be spoilt for choice as far as the sizes go.
If, however, you’re so in love with it and need to get it like now, you can purchase them from Magnums which is based in the States. Shipping is extra though, so it might be worth the wait if you’re looking to save a penny or two. Eranzi also has last season’s Darshan on stock, which is pretty similar to Orchidéal‘s print so you might want to check that out too.
And speaking of Eranzi, they’ve just added more bags to their clearance sale, so if you’re looking for a bargain, you might want to give it a once-over as well.
