Chanel Boy Ad Campaign
The Chanel Boy needs no introduction, so I shan’t bore you with the details. What you should know, however, is that are now at least 20 new variations to the Boy collection, which have been released in tandem with the launch of the new Boy advertising campaign starring 24-year-old model Alice Dellal.
Lensed by none other than Karl Lagerfeld, Alice is lounging in a French chateau, decked out in pretty Chanel frocks given the Dellal-twist, replete with ripped fishnet tights, tousled bleached hair and nose ring. And given how the Boy is not your typical Chanel bag that’s all pretty and sweet, it is perhaps the perfect pairing. Both are edgy and unexpected, yet still glamourous with a tad of grunge.
Speaking of the bags, you will be spoilt for choice as far as just picking one is concerned. Besides having over 20 to pick from, you’ll also need to decide which size to get (at least 3 at last count), the choice of leather (everything from lambskin and calfskin to exotics like python, galuchat and alligator is available) and the colours, which range from ivory to pink, from red to grey and lastly, black.
Prices start from SGD4360 for the ones in calfskin, all the way to near bankruptcy for the ones in alligator. And if you’re going to ask me which you should get first, the Classic Flap or the Boy, I say Boy and only because every woman and her daughter is carrying the former in Singapore.

OMG. Every woman and her mother, daughter and grandmother is carrying the Classic Flap in black. And don’t get me started on how they (don’t) style their looks.
I am craving a Boy, maybe I should trim down my stable of Classic Flaps and Reissues to make room!

But when the Boy is gone, the Flap will still be a classic.

I love the original version but I can’t find the combo I like. Not a fan of this quilted ones. Wonder what color and hardware they have for the basic original version.
They have non-quilted ones in iridescent patent calfskin and matte patent calfskin in colours like black, grey, pink and ivory as well.
I saw the pink patent one!!! It’s really dreamy. I’m not really a pink girl but wow! The pearly sheen blow me away. Love love love it! Should I just skip the chain around maxi and get this or still get the chain around maxi and this one later? Um…

The Cocoon bags, I went gradually from dislike to like very much, but the Boy — I’m in love!
Is there any way a boy could carry a Boy bag? One sales assistant showed me how a guy would carry the Flap, by pulling on side of the metal strap so it extends the strap to look like a messenger bag. What do you think?
Well, to be honest, there is no right or wrong when it comes to sexes and what bags they can or cannot wear.
Just remember the rules of proportion. If you’re using it as a messenger, you’ll probably have to get the largest one plus be small in stature to pull if off.
Or just look at how Pelayo of katelovesme.net pulls it off.
That boy so small in stature he can pull most anything off, even runway RTW.

Love the ‘Boy’ collection to the max… Definitely one of the nicest in the Chanel collection in the past few seasons.

The price that you stated $4360, are you referring to the medium size or small size? Planning to get one. Currently saving up to get a Chanel Boy, I’m loving the quilted one.
It is for the smallest one, yes, but do check if there have any price increments lately.
