Shot in the balmy, sub-tropical setting of Coconut Grove, Miami, the Spring-Summer 2012 Bottega Veneta ad campaign features the season’s best and brightest (quite literally as well, as far as the bags and accessories anyway).
Lensed by American photographer and artist Jack Pierson, the end result is an ad campaign that’s filled with colour, texture and the sheer adulation of the new season.
Have a look at the accompanying video, which details the creative process in the words of Creative Director Tomas Maier, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at how the ad campaign came to be.
And while I haven’t had the time to suss out all the S/S12 bags yet, this one, from the Bottega Veneta Multicolor Washed Cervo collection is definitely on my list of bags worth checking out. Made of cervo leather that’s undergone a special washing process, the bag has that distressed, almost vintage feel but is still baby bottom soft. What’s more, it has not one, not two, but 4 different zip compartments, which will please even the most obsessive-compulsive of those who need every single item in its own place.
This particular style of bag, with multiple pockets in contrasting colours, also shows up in other shapes which also means the boys are spoilt for choice. Like this duffle that I’m currently lusting after. Just need to find a couple of piggy banks (actually make that a thousand piggy banks) to break open and dip into.
