Mulberry Del Rey
Created in honour of American songstress Lana Del Rey is the new Mulberry Del Rey, which will most likely be making her runway debut today during the F/W12 presentation in London. Part old school Hollywood, part contemporary style is how Ms Del Rey describes her namesake bag which will come in 2 sizes and retail for USD795 and USD875 respectively.
Shaped more or less like a Speedy with an additional flap in the front, this is as simple and as unfettered as it gets, a good candidate to consider when looking for a slightly structured handbag for work or play.
Besides the one in Black Forest, other colours that will be available include Petrol, Black and Deer Brown, each colour also representing a different type of leather, from matte to grainy print to vegetable tanned lambskin.

Officially (and from a Mulberry spokesperson, no less), the base is not hard, but no, it doesn’t sag either.

Love the classic Mulberry touches, not sure if I’m loving this shape. Anyhow, I think I have too much Mulberry in my closet right now.

The shape looks rather awkward when carried by Del Rey. Must see in person, that woman has funny proportions.
