With all the designer collaborations that have been going on lately, it’s no wonder how many of us are suffering from fatigue, all pooped out doing research online figuring which of the collaboration pieces are must-buys, since every designer and his cat seem to have one of these going on these days.
Not surprisingly, my eyes now have a knack of glazing over as soon as it spots the ‘c’ word, and I have to quickly switch to something else before coming back to it. Which happened when I going through Bally’s press kit when I spotted the the Bally Love #2 collection, a (you guessed it) collaboration with Swiss artist Olaf Breuning.
Thankfully, the capsule collection which includes ballerina flats, loafers, SLGs and tech cases turned out be mini works of art in their own right, with bold primary colours (and then some) taking centrestage. The result? Fun and colourful pieces that are fresh, modern and deserving of a place in every fashionista’s wardrobe. Collaboration or not, it didn’t make a difference anymore.
Personally, I’m drooling over the pair of colourful (or is it colour blocked) loafers, the zip-around wallet and of course, the pièce de résistance, the sling clutch in bright hues that I must get for myself.
No word yet on when the collection will be available in Singapore (I’m expecting late March, early April), so do stay tuned for another update when the time comes.
