Crème de La Mer Moisturizing Cream
Thanks to the great folks at La Mer, I will soon be embarking on a new trial of their much-feted Crème de La Mer Moisturizing Cream, a 30 ml jar of Pacific sea kelp combined with other essentials like minerals and vitamins. A nutrient-rich concoction that they call the Miracle Broth, it is also at the core of the other 3 products in this collection, namely the Moisturizing Gel Cream, the Moisturizing Lotion and the Oil Absorbing Lotion.
Touted to renew skin, improve firmness, as well as reduce lines and wrinkles, I’m pretty psyched to be able to try it out for myself again, having used it once some years back before I switched over to SK-II. And if any of you are already using any of the 4 products in this line-up, do feel free to share your feedback with me. What’s your favourite, and why?

You will love it like I do. Feels very different from any moisturizer that I’ve used. The effects are great. I use their cleansers as well as moisturizers. In particular, the Radiant Infusion, Lifting Serum (which will be replaced by the new Radiant serum) and eye cream The products smell good (I’m quite particular about smell) and leave a great sensation. Lately I have started using the ‘concentrate’. Excellent!!!
I have used the gel and the cream. The cream is a bit too heavy for me to use unless I have chapped skin from a cold or winter air. The gel is heavenly. (FB)
I’ve tried the cream, gel and lotion. found the cream too heavy for my skin/our local climate; the gel was a bit too light for me – didn’t provide enough moisturizing coverage.
The lotion was the best fit – not too heavy and easily absorbed! The one product in the La Mer line that I absolutely swear by is the eye concentrate. It’s very healing.
Like many girls, i had the habit of over-plucking my brows and I swear, one unexpected side benefit of using the eye concentrate is that my brows have fully grown back! so the product’s not just great for wrinkles haha. (FB)
i’m using the moisturising cream for more humid climates eg singapore and the lotion when i travel where the climate is less moist… i swear by it!
Hi I been using the cream version so far love it… Have glowing skin hahaha… I prefer the cream to gel or lotion… Use it sparingly if you find it too heavy… Been using it for years. (FB)
Hi BB, i’ve been using this for 3 years and I’ve tried the creme, gel cream and the lotion – except the oil absorbing lotion as i dont have oily skin.
This has become my staple and i dont know how to live without this cream. I find the creme de la mer is best for night as it is heavy. Usage during the day in our equatorial climate will result in breakouts and major oil slick leaking on our face after a walk out in the sun.
The gel cream is nice, but a little too light for me. And i think I’m using this a lot more since you’ve gotta warm it in between your hands and not much will be applied to your face.
My fave is the lotion – although the bottle contains a lot less than the jars. But this you can use day and night. I love the texture , how its so light and yet moisturising.
Hope that helps!
my fav is the gel! can really feel the ‘water-under-the-skin’ feeling…
Been using the lotion for years. Works wonders for my skin. Love love La Mer!
I started with the cream, after 2 bottles with no improvement but pimples on my face. I switch to gel . The gel did not give me any problem but did not get any significant improvement after using 3 bottles too. So I had switch back to SK-II .
How old are we recommended to start on this?
I once tried on Lancome Genifique, caused me bad breakout, which till now, 3 months on, my skin condition has not recovered back to its normal state -bumps, rough patches, extreme oily and dry patches, am so at loss!
Hey Linda, I don’t think age is factor when using most facial products. You should instead do a test before you start on anything new, all products work differently based on your skin type. You should make an appointment with National Skin Centre and have your condition looked at first, sounds serious.
Hi there, I’ve been trying to search for a excellent moisturizer and eye cream to try. And I’ve tried many an it didn’t turn out well. So it’s kind of wasting my money and effort.
But I’ve heard from my friends and internet saying that La Mer is a MIRACLE product. And I am really excited to know more of this brand.
Can anyone here give me and estimation of the prices of the Moisturizing gel, lotion and the eye cream in SGD? So I can at least estimate the amount of money to buy these products? Thanks!
