Prada F/W11 Creeper Brogues

August 4, 2011   |   18 Comments

My ongoing obsession with Prada’s brogues has not been satiated even though I own two pairs, and in fact made worse by images released online of the new variations for F/W11. First up, the gorgeous brown or dark blue polished leather brogues that come with an espadrille middle finished off with rubber soles.

These pairs are in fact closer to the original ones that were first seen on the S/S11 runway, as opposed to the ‘thinner pairs’ that were subsequently made for sale. I guess there were enough vertically-challenged men in the world demanding the exact same pair. Instead of the watered down version.

Still not convinced? Here’s a side-by-side comparison of the S/S11 runway pair (on the left), as well as the S/S11 pair (on the right) that was made for sale. Note that difference in height which is almost 1 cm or so.

Besides the variation I just mentioned, another one to look out for are the ones with full rubber soles, no less thin but with multiple layers sans the espadrille middle. No less alluring, this is also on my wish list for F/W11. No point getting another pair that’s almost similar to the duo I already own, so I might as well get one of these instead.

There are also solid-colour variations you can check out here, but I’m sticking to my multi-coloured choice of tabacco/orange. Both variations retail for EUR580 a pop; no word yet however if they are available in Singapore at the moment.
