Miu Miu Oversized Nappa Leather Clutch
Having seen the bags from the F/W11 Miu Miu collection at least twice already (the first time in Paris, the second in Shanghai), I can safely say this.
Love.
A sumptuous composition of luxurious suede and gold-tone hardware, the oversized clutch works perfectly with Miuccia Prada’s vision for F/W11: the glamourous, heady 40s, slim long-sleeved dresses with delicate embroidery, mink fur wraps and glitter-dipped shoes.
One of her most elegant collections ever, the bags are a simply a study in proportion with details kept to a minimum. No loud motifs, no dizzying graphics, just pure, understated bliss.
For those of you, however, who worry about the high maintenance of all things suede, there is a similar version in nappa leather that just popped up on Net-A-Porter. Measuring 44 cm across (I did say they were oversized to begin with), the premise of it is as simple as it gets. Take your vintage purse with the clasp frame and blow it up 50 times.
Lined with blushing pink satin on the inside, it comes with the addition of a shoulder sling which will always come in useful when you’re trying to vary your look.
Priced at GBP1050 (or around SGD2075 after conversion), it’s really not that exorbitant for such a statement piece. They should also be available at Miu Miu stores island wide; I spotted another variation in a boxy oversized shape made of suede for around SGD2200 at Miu Miu ION Orchard.
