Update – Fall-Winter 2011 Mens Louis Vuitton

July 5, 2011   |   21 Comments

Having first spotted it online way back in January, I’ve been in love with this clutch ever since. From the Fall-Winter 2011 Mens Louis Vuitton collection comes the gorgeous Louis Vuitton Cuir Indra Portfolio, made of embossed calf leather that’s made to resemble ridged creases, just like the skin of an elephant. It also explains the name, Cuir Indra, the latter word in reference to the Indian demi-god who is frequently portrayed astride a majestic elephant.

Measuring almost A4 in size, it should come in other colours and/or materials even though this is the only one I can find in the press kit. Have a look at this post and you’ll know what I mean.

Another clutch that caught my eye is the smaller Historique, which comes with the same oversized front clasps as the Cuir Indra portfolio. An additional feature, the hanging handle loop which one would stick their hand through whilst holding onto the clutch for added security. Why do I like the one in Monogram Canvas then? It is old school, kinda retro and even a tad tacky. Yes, tacky. And I like.

If the one in Monogram Canvas is really not your thing, the Historique will also be available in Cuir Indra (shown above) and black patent alligator.

As far as the bags go, I’m not loving anything from the Damier Infini collection even though it was featured prominently on the runway. Embossed with Louis Vuitton’s signature check, the bags are touted to be soft yet durable.

Instead, I actually prefer the Louis Vuitton Taiga Neo Igor (shown above), a simply designed, practical briefcase made of hardwearing Taiga leather.

Completing the quick preview is a smattering of pieces from the F/W11 collection that I love, including the updated brogues with tapered heels, the pair of trunk cufflinks and of course, the Monogram Canvas Brazza which now comes with bright colours (like Bleu Clair, Vert Anglais and Rouge) in the interior and the option of customising it by using the Mon Monogram service.

No word on the prices yet, so do stay tuned for more updates.
