Chanel Boy Collection
From the Fall-Winter 2011 Womens Chanel collection comes the new pieces from Boy Chanel, an intentionally androgynous selection of bags and clutches that echoes Chanel’s use of men’s underwear to make dresses. Karl Lagerfeld took it a step further, adapted cartridge bags made originally for hunters and created this collection.
Characterised by the thick shoulder round-link chains and heavy front clasps, the collection consists of 3 pieces in all, from the smallest purse to the largest tote, each available in a wide variety of colours from Brilliant Ivory to Deep Black and Flat Red.
Each bag will also have the brand name embossed on the spine (shown above), although I feel that was somewhat unnecessary. Still, the whole so-old-yet-so-new-vibe works for me, and while I do not have the full prices yet, the smallest Boy (which measures 20 cm by 14 cm) will start from SGD3940.
Not that affordable, but then again, it’s Chanel baby. In Singapore, the launch is expected to be around September 2011, do stay tuned for more updates.
Last but not least, something totally unrelated but worth a mention nonetheless, especially since I know how many of you out there love Chanel’s Le Vernis collection. For F/W11′s Illusion D’Ombre line-up expect 3 more gorgeous shades which comprise Graphite, Péridot and Quartz. Lovely, aren’t they?

they also have the one in grey, it’s TDF!
DAMN NICE! (FB)
a design that is new yet old! love it! (FB)
I love the designs they are pretty cool.
I so so so love this. Really wonder how much it will cost. Well, if not sky high, I’d love to have one in black.
Oh… and totally agree with you. They should really ditch that “Chanel” on the spine. Somehow make it look cheap and very logo-esque.
The logos appeal to a specific target market so it’s there for a reason. I’m seeing too many from that target group carrying Chanel these days and personally it cheapens the brand for me. It’s difficult for me to want to be associated with the brand anymore although I did consider getting a 2.55 reissue. But now, I think I’m better off sticking to Mulberry, Loewe, Celine. Brands with no ostentatious logos or monograms.
Hi Bagaholicboy, could you help verify if this is coming to Singapore at all through your sources?
My girlfriend is so excited about this series, but when I asked the assistant at Chanel Takashimaya, she told me that the Singapore outlet will not carry Chanel Boy bags. Thanks!
Why don’t you print this post out, along with this one I found on Her World, and show it to that SA again?

Is the tote bag in ultra-soft suede calfskin from the fall-winter 2011 pre-collection available in SG? How much does it cost?
You need to be more specific Kiki. Do you have a pic of it?
