Alexander McQueen Armadillo Shoe Ornament

May 6, 2011   |   10 Comments

You fell in love with the Armadillo the moment you first saw it on the runway for S/S10, but didn’t get it because a) it cost too much and b) you probably imagined yourself falling to your untimely death teetering in these heels. You promptly put the idea of owning it aside, but never really forgot about it. That is, until The Metropolitan Museum of Art released the Alexander McQueen Armadillo Shoe Ornament, a USD25 cast resin, hand-painted piece of Mcqueen history.

Measuring around 10 cm by 8 cm, it comes with its own metal loop which I assume you can string a piece of ribbon through and hang it on your Christmas tree. Which will look weird amongst all the candy cane and glass bauble ornaments. Or use it as a bag charm, or better yet, a paperweight. Just head online and complete your order; the Met does ship internationally so no worries there.

Who’s getting one?
