Update – Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Speedy Bandouliere

April 12, 2011   |   32 Comments

Here’s a quick update on the new Louis Vuitton Monogram Canvas Speedy Bandouliere that will be officially released in Singapore on 1 May 2011. And in true typical Singaporean style, I did a double confirm (We Are Singaporeans) with the local press office just to make sure (given how there are delays from time to time), and they have verified it to be true.

There will be 4 different sizes up for grabs, and the prices will be as follows: sizes 25, 30, 35 and 40 will be priced at SGD1350 SGD1390, SGD1380 SGD1420, SGD1410 SGD1450 and SGD1440 SGD1480 respectively.

A couple of points before I sign off. For guys looking for something that’s slightly smaller than the Keepall45, the Speedy Bandouliere40 may be perfect; just make sure it is looks proportionate when you’re carrying it.

Another point, and I’m just wondering out loud here. With prices so close to the original Speedy, will that mean more people will go for the new Speedy Bandouliere instead and spell the end of the original Speedy? What do you think?

i think there will still be a market for normal speedy… some ppl just don’t like extra strap…

  • Hey BB, does the bag comes in Damier pattern as well?

    • Bagaholicboy says:

At this point of time I have no news on the release of Damier Ebene, Damier Azur or the Mon Monogram service for the Speedy Bandouliere. Stay tuned for more updates.

  • strictlybeautiful says:

oh yes pls let us know once the damier ebene comes out! its more practical since the vachetta gets stained so easily!

but seriously i dunno why people would buy the original speedy since the new speedy’s strap can be removed and all.

  • KellyX says:

I’ll take the new one anytime. It will be useful when i need my hands free. Will wait for Damier Ebene though. Strictlybeautiful I can’t manage vachetta leather too!

  • Lee Pei Sze says:

Now the decision: to get this in Mono canvas or to wait out for the Damier canvas?? Can you help me decide?

  • gc says:

I’m just wondering, would you know if the mon monogram personalisation service would be available on this speedy? cos right now I’m having problem choosing whether i should get classic speedy with mon monogram or the new one with strap, would be awesome if they could just combine it!

  • theknees says:

im sure the bigger sizes would like great on a guy slung across his back, like how a Keepall45 would… but im not so sure the smaller sizes would like just as great slung across a girl’s shoulder… feels weird given the Speedy’s shape.

just have to wait to see it in real life!

  • ManBag says:

I hope the strap is long enough to go across the chest of a 6 foot tall male like myself. I would like to get the 40. The pics I’ve seen from press parties makes it seem like it was made to only be worn over the shoulder.

    • GJE says:

Me too! I definitely hope it is long enough to be carried across the chest over my 5’6 frame. Need my hands free when bringing baby out. Would be a hassle if it starts slipping off the shoulder…

  • Vanessa says:

I love the extra strap, but I’ve stopped buying LV Monogram Canvas bags. Hope they release the Damier Ebene version soon.

  • Katrisha says:

No I don’t think so BB. Some people still prefer the original Speedy as it was before, an iconic handheld bag.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m personally all for the strap (nowdays hands-free just makes everything easier – also safer against bagsnatchers maybe with the strap?) but I can see where other people are coming from, who prefer the original.

  • Xan says:

The classic speedy will have its own fans. Why would the elderly mothers/women pay for the extra strap when they simply have no use of the same?

  • Terence says:

yay! something to look forward to when i get to london in june! hopefully its not sold out by then!

  • swee says:

Paris, here I come! means cheaper prices too!

  • Swee says:

Hi BB!!! Do you know whether this is already available in Paris or when it will be? Thanks!!

  • Clara says:

I think that for the most part, this may affect the sales of the Sofia Coppola collection (especially the monogram version) — the SC bags were primarily inspired by a mix of the speedy and the keepall. With the birth of this bandouliere, that might just be too redundant…

  • yed says:

wow, i have been waiting for the speedy 40 to have a strap to make it less feminine. do you think they will accept it for mon monogram. if yes, i’d die to have one! haha.

  • Helena Handbasket says:

Ditto what Clara said above. The new Speedy B. is just too similar to the SC monogram for LV to carry both, especially since SC’s name seems to add about a thousand dollars to the price.

Still debating whether I should get one of these or the Idylle Speedy with a strap…

  • Vincent says:

Hi Bagaholicboy! I’m interested in purchasing the Louis Vuitton men’s tote bag Kitan, Tadao or Cabas Zippe online. Which online website sell authentic genuine Louis Vuitton men’s bag. Can you help ? Thank you.
    Cheers… Vincent

    • Bagaholicboy says:

You can buy authentic LV online at their own online sites where they offer shipping, but Singapore is not one of them. Otherwise check out the local boutiques. Anything else you find online that’s cheaper or discounted is fake.

  • Ines says:

Just got the speedy 35 with strap… love it! So much more practical now with a strap.

  • Maria says:

Just got the Speedy B. 25… I love it! So cute and quite handy with the strap. The SA was pushing me to get the 30, but it really looked too big and awkward on me… The Speedy B. 25 is great as an everyday bag, so I’m very happy!

  • Xan says:

“peanut” price increases as compared to Chanel whopping 20-25% adjustment not too long ago…

  • Jenggy says:

Hi just read about you in our local newspaper the Star and I’m so impress with your interview…

I wish my hubby bought me the speedy bag since its practical instead he bought me the epi ivoire. I want your opinion if it is ok to use it everyday or save it for special occasions?
