Dr. Martens Leather Satchel
Do we really need another satchel? We’ve seen the originals from The Cambridge Satchel Company, challengers from the likes of Kate Spade and pretenders from just about everyone in between. And come this Friday (22 April 2011), you will able to get the Dr. Martens Leather Satchel which will be released in limited quantities in Singapore.
Made from the same classic smooth leather that Dr. Martens uses on the Made In England range, only 350 pieces were ever made across all 5 colours (in other words, 70 each per colour), which makes it a true limited edition offering.
Priced at SGD399 each, the satchels measure 15″ across and come in Black, Cherry Red (shown above), Green, Navy and White.
I guess the bigger question at the end of the day will be which colour are you eyeing? And more importantly, how early will you start queueing just to get yourselves one?

They appear to be completely identical without a single discrepancy between the two.
Of course there are. I’ve seen and touched both versions, the leather used for TSCS bags is stiffer and more refined while the version from Dr. Martens is softer and more rugged.

BB, this one is more softer and more rugged? Then now I think I need to move my heart away from TSCS to the Dr. Marts one. Eyeing for the one in cherry red, but it cost 399 where TSCS one cost like 200+?

Frankly, I prefer Cambridge. I just received my 14 inch multi-coloured Satchel yesterday and it comes with embossing. I’m still in love with it!
