I knew I wanted them the moment I blogged about them way back in December 2010. It was a no-brainer really, gorgeous multi-layered brogues that came with platform soles. The bigger question was, which colour combination would I get, since many different types would be made available for retail.
Very soon it became clear that everyone else on Earth wanted a pair for themselves too. Though initially criticised for being an eyesore, they were featured in magazines, newspapers and blogs (like the snapshot above from Stockholm StreetStyle) across the world. Wait lists began to form, and I couldn’t get the multi-coloured ones in Singapore, London or Paris.
Then hope came in the form of Neiman Marcus, where I spotted a pair in Tan/Dark Brown/Black, which really wasn’t too bad either. I just wasn’t sure about the sizing, which made me make a trip down to Prada Paragon today. Before I knew it, the SA produced a pair in the Yellow/Blue/Tan combo that was on my original wish list; they had one pair in my size (42) and the rest, as they say, is history.
For those of you hoping to try your luck tomorrow, they should still have the ones in sizes 43 and 44, with each pair retailing for SGD1360 a pop. Or check out the ones at Neiman Marcus, where they retail for USD795 a pair.
