Chanel Coco Cocoon Large Shopping Tote
Officially my single biggest splurge in Paris, the Chanel Coco Cocoon Large Shopping Tote was love at first sight for me. Those of you following me on Twitter would have already caught a glimpse of it, as it travelled in the cab beside me back home after I landed in Singapore. Basically a bulbous nylon tote with some trim in leather, the tote is actually a two-in-one. On the inside (and buttoned within) is another nylon messenger, which you can unbutton and pull out to be used separately.
Retailing for EUR1900, it ain’t exactly the cheapest bag around but I love it for the following reasons. It’s huge (65 cm by 38 cm), it is such a joy to hug (which makes it a great companion on long flights), I heard it costs over SGD4000 in Singapore, the tote is reversible, and most importantly, where else can you get 2 bags for the price of one?
I initially saw the one in Black which I was quite ready to commit to, but the lovely SA at Chanel Rue Cambon went into the storeroom and got the one in Blue for me.
Here’s a closer look at the extra messenger, which is no less huge or beautiful.
And I’m really happy I got it.

Saw this bag in KLCC, it is very huge and if I remember correctly it costs about RM8000. Congrats!!

Very nice color! Just out of curiosity, how do you put your things in the bag when there is a messenger inside? Do you have to put your things into the messenger?
Yes that’s right! You just put everything inside the messenger, which is already secured to the sides of the tote.

You can try asking once you’re there. The last time I was in Paris It was still available.
