Bagaholicboy News #192 – Abercrombie & Fitch To Open At Knightsbridge!
According to reports online, Abercrombie & Fitch will be opening a 4-storey flagship in Singapore at Knightsbridge (along Orchard Road) in the third quarter of 2011. Which is all well and good, but having been to Abercrombie & Fitch stores in both London and Tokyo (nearly died trying to walk up all 11 floors), I must say this. If the brand brings the entire concept into Singapore wholesale, here’s what you can expect.
At the entrance, you will be able to take an instant Polaroid with a topless A&F store employee. Be welcomed into dimly lit interiors, a hot steamy environment, loud pulsating disco music and more employees (though mostly boys but now fully clothed) dancing on every floor. In other words, very much basically like your typical gay club.
The only thing that’s missing? Your very own cocktails, which can be easily fixed by bringing a flask of your favourite brew. It’s time to party! Shop? What shop?

for me the best part about shopping in any A&F store in the US is the music! i love the loud funky music they play! and since most stores in the US have a refund policy, i can simply browse & buy without having to bother about queuing for the changing room. but i’m sure that’s not gonna be the case in SG. i can just imagine the queue when the store opens!!!

Well, if it modelled after the A&F stores around the world, I’m pretty sure it will be packed.
hate to say this, but i’ll rather see the guys fully clothed. i have zero confidence in SG male bodies.

I was at the A&F store in Tokyo, you could actually take a lift up to the top floor and walk down from there. I saw most people did that, including me.
Fantastic music and cute guys wearing low-cut jeans.
we have the same disoriented reaction. when I entered the store here in copenhagen I was like, “where’s the bar? where can I get a cosmopolitan?” shopping was the last thing on my mind.
maybe because we’re both fruitcakes. lol

finally! i can finally get my hands on some of that FIERCE cologne that they overspray in their shops. (not that i am complaining). i hope we can smell the shop when we are at the traffic light.
A&F has pretty nice stuff too. Though not all the time.

they’re shutting down all around the US, glad they’re making money internationally. overplayed over here.

Recently visited A&F store at The Grove LA and SF Centre they don’t have topless guys anymore. Must be the cold summer weather. Music still rocks though.
A&F will also open in HKG – taking over the shanghai tang spot in central. a hollister branch has already opened at the festival walk mall in kowloon.
