Bally Redgrave

February 19, 2011   |   2 Comments

Walking past Bally at Marina Bay Sands today, I spotted the new Bally Redgrave, perhaps one of S/S11′s most versatile bags. At first glance it looks like any other clutch, a simple canvas body trimmed with leather that measures 33 cm by 19 cm.

But as they say, looks can be deceiving, and the Redgrave is more than just a clutch. Look inside and you’ll find an adjustable shoulder strap, which means you can easily turn it into a sling bag. Look to the sides and you’ll see little shoulder handles; pop the handles out and you’ve got yourself a handbag.

Pop them back in, tuck away the shoulder strap and you’ve got yourself the clutch again. In other words, you’ve got 3 bags for the price of one, in a style that’s so in this season and as Céline as it gets. Besides the one with black trim, other trim colours available include red, yellow, green and blue, retailing for SGD2295 each.

Or check out Net-A-Porter (they’ve got them with red, or black trim) where they retail for GBP795 (or around SGD1645) which is almost SGD650 in savings.

This is good. So slightly clever gem is hiding within the satchel! I’m trying to imagine the straps. It should match the leather on the outside, yeah?

3 ways to wear it. I think I like it firstly as a clutch then as a handbag. Definitely not a shoulder bag for work. It is too harsh. Love your blog btw. Keep up the fab work in bringing us career chicks all the goss from the world of bags right here in Asia!
