Spring-Summer 2011 Kate Spade Ad Campaign
You can always spot a Kate Spade campaign a mile away, always bright, cheery and without a care in the world. And the Spring-Summer 2011 Kate Spade ad campaign is no different, one that’s filled with fun vibes and vivid colours. Shot by acclaimed fashion photographer Norman Jean Roy, the campaign features actress Bryce Dallas Howard, a first for Kate Spade who has never featured celebrities in their ads before.
The first of two campaigns for Bryce, she will also be featured in A/W11′s ad campaign for Kate Spade. And if you’ve been studying both images and wondering why the bags she is carrying look so familiar, here’s the answer.
Introducing one of Kate Spade’s signature bags for S/S11, here’s the Kate Spade Small Scout Essex, which looks remarkably like the schoolboy satchel from The Cambridge Satchel Company. First impressions aside, there are obvious differences (contrast stitching, missing front window replaced with logo), though no one would disagree if I said the Scout Essex was definitely inspired by the former.
Available in 2 sizes (26 cm by 16.5 cm for the regular, 17.5 cm by 12 cm for the small), it will come in an assortment of colours (besides Orange, they will also come in Bone, Citronella, Hot Pink and Natural), and retail for SGD770 and SGD580 respectively when they are released in Singapore come February 2011.

Yup that’s right. Kate Spade is officially referring to that colour as Citronella.
