Louis Vuitton Damier Aventure Practical

December 31, 2010

Here’s another exclusive just for fans of Louis Vuitton. Making its debut in February 2011, the runway Damier Aventure collection will definitely win hearts with its lightweight body and casual good looks. And one of the pieces from this collection is the Louis Vuitton Damier Aventure Practical, which was originally inspired by the Keepall.

Created specifically for modern day traveller, the duffle measures 60 cm across by 30 cm, with 2 side pockets on the outside, a removable (an adjustable) shoulder strap and trimmed with just a wee bit of leather.

Available in 2 different colours, Céleste (electric blue) and Galaxie (black), I can’t quite yet decide on which colour to get. Do I go for the slightly more casual one in Céleste, or should I get the one in Galaxie which will hide scuffs and nicks better over time?

Presumably, everything folds up and fits into this little case, which is part of the duffle, allowing you to carry it around with ease when not in use. And the best thing? For a runway piece it isn’t that exorbitant at all, set to retail for SGD1440 (USD1070) when it comes out February 2011.

Before I sign off, a word of advice. If you’re keen you better start calling your SA to put yourself on the wait list, because this baby will definitely sell out as soon as it hits the shelves.

i hope they will make the tote style i had my eye on too.

  • ani says:

YES MOST DEFT WILL GET THIS! price isnt bad at all! and yes pls come out with casual handbags too!!!

  • Shane says:

sorry, not convinced… I can’t think of any other use beside a gym bag!

  • yed says:

Oh my god!!! I’m so rushing to the LV store when I get back to Manila! Love love this collection!

  • rick in los angeles says:

cute, but since the price is affordable everyone will have it and it can only be used as a gym/ travel bag… nothing special… generic.

  • ChrisHK says:

If not for the little carry case that says “Louis Vuitton”, from the looks of the thin and cheap looking fabric, I see no difference between this bag and one you get from Royal Sporting House, maybe North by Northface or Columbia, or worse, Hong Kong’s Fa Yuen Street market.

I think LV dropped the ball in it’s choice of fabric. They should take a leaf out of Prada’s nylon bag collection. There’s nothing remotely stylish about this bag. Sorry, LV fans – I’m one too, which explains the disappointment with this product.

    • Bagaholicboy says:

From time to time, brands will come up with different bags in different designs and materials to give their fans something different, or to attract/appeal new customers.

Some people will love it, some people will loathe it, it is only natural. Just saying.

  • Alex says:

This is too hideous and demeaning to LV… I’m disappointed.

  • Love the concept – As a frequent flyer I totally see the value in a duffle that packs away into a super small carry case so that you can pack it in checked luggage for use at your destination. I envision it as a beach bag/gym bag/holiday bag.

@BB as for your dilemma on the colour – get the Céleste: the big bright electric blue: you know secretly you really want the blue!

  • allan says:

I am waiting for your post on the tote one. I don’t like the shape of this.

  • Vanessa says:

It’s practical for travelling. I do have a few of such foldable nylon tote/duffel for travelling. Good fo last-minute shopping and even packing dirty laundry. But I won’t pay USD870 for “bag” for such purpose.

  • Isaac says:

Hey BB, what about the Damier tote/shoulder bags?

  • Katrisha says:

The blue is a tad too bright imo, black is more practical.

  • lalalaaa says:

Honestly… if this wasn’t from Vuitton I think alot of us wouldn’t lay an eye on it. Sorry but it looked cheap IMO (not cheap in price though) and better off buying something else.

  • Mngo Zara says:

For this material, I’ll get a Kipling.

  • kenny says:

I got the celeste color… awesome design and color cuz damier usually only comes beige and dark brown… so in that sense… its limited!… there’s no other blue damier products… so to keep the bag unusual… they should keep it that way.

YES its lightweight material… wish they would’ve a lil padding between or a ripstop material… but perfect size for a weekend getaway! No more though… YES its pricey but heu what u expext from LV. its only for certain people… overall def very NICE!
