Dior: The Opening Party At Marina Bay Sands

October 15, 2010   |   5 Comments

I’m still sorting out the 1064 snapshots I took all night at Dior’s opening party at Marina Bay Sands which was, in a word, massive.

Held right by the waterfront with Singapore’s glorious skyline as the backdrop in a specially constructed tent, Dior definitely spared no expense. Almost as big as a football field, the entire tent slowly swelled with regional and local celebrities, VIPs and the media who turned up in full force.

The highlight of the evening had to be not one, but two runway presentations featuring both F/W10 and Cruise 2011 collections from Dior. Not full collections, but enough pieces from each to give you a generally good idea of what’s going on. Another surprise, the ample use of Asian models in both shows, which was refreshing. In fact, besides the model shown above, the line-up was mostly made up of Chinese faces, including Liu Wen, Liu Dan, Li Danni and Dai Xiaoyi.

Besides Vicky Zhao Wei and Lisa S, other artistes and celebrities who attended included Andrea De Cruz, Charmaine Harn, Nadya Hutagalung, Elvin Ng, Joanne Peh, Utt, Tay Ping Hui and Fann Wong. In fact, just closely look at the snapshot above and you’ll be able to spot some yourself.

In terms of scale and pomp, it was certainly one of the biggest this year, and while I sort out more snaps and see which ones are fit for posting, you can check out the short 360° video clip of party central on my Facebook fan page, or the album for random snapshots.
