While the Chanel Coco Cocoon collection needs no introduction (I’ve been seeing more and more these days in the arms of women along Orchard Road), it is interesting to note that until recently the whole collection didn’t even exist. There are many reasons why I think the collection has become so popular, but I’ll just highlight 3.
Firstly, the range is extremely lightweight, especially the ones in quilted nylon. The ones in quilted calfskin are slightly heavier, but only by a tad.
Secondly, the way they feel. Quilted and puffy, the bags are all soft to the touch, almost like your favourite pillow, which is always comforting whenever you’re alone and feeling down. And lastly (and most importantly), the affordability of it all. While the calfskin pieces are more expensive, the ones in nylon are really affordable, which also explains its popularity.
Measuring 44 cm by 28 cm, the Chanel Coco Cocoon Travel Bowling Handbag (SGD2340) is one of my firm favourites. Just imagine yourself hugging this pillowy soft baby to sleep while on the plane and you’ll know why I’m so taken with it.
This one, on the other hand, is in caviar calfskin. The Chanel Coco Cocoon Small Shopping Tote measures 31 cm by 24 cm, and comes in 2 other colours (Dark Brown and Black) besides the one in Ivory (shown above). And because it is full leather, this tote retails for SGD3540.
Quilted nylon backpack anyone? Just SGD2600.
Finally, the Coco Cocoon Small Case (SGD920) that measures 17 cm across. Small, adorable, puffy and cute. Check them out all at Chanel Marina Bay Sands and Ngee Ann City.
