Spring-Summer 2011 Womens Fendi

I’ve not blogged much about Fendi ever since the Peekaboo was launched, and since then, nothing much seemed to catch my eye. That, however, is set to change with the Spring-Summer 2011 Womens Fendi presentation that saw gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous bags making their presence felt on the runway.

Short of calling this collection the best of the lot for Milan, I’m going to say this. Giannini may have her Moroccan inspirations and Tomas his monochromatic moods, but Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi have created what I think will easily be 2011′s most editorially-shot pieces.

Bright jewel tones are the hallmark of this collection, with bags purposely matched with contrasting trim, creating pieces that are immediately eye-catching. Fendi wasn’t shy with the number of colours used on each bag either, with some having as many as 5 different colours on a single piece, yet somehow looking composed and complimentary.

From sling bags to shoulder bags to clutches and totes (I really want the tote for myself now), it’s almost impossible to find any fault with anything; everything from the hardware to the proportions looks just right. And if it gets any more perfect than this I’ll actually make an effort and camp in front of the Fendi press office just to see the samples when they eventually arrive.
