Fall-Winter 2010 Womens Miu Miu Ad Campaign
Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot (with models Daphne Groeneveld, Ginta Lapina, Siri Tollerod and Lindsey Wixson), the Fall-Winter 2010 Womens Miu Miu ad campaign is a washed-out 80s acid trip of sorts, one replete with heavy eyeshadow and pulled-back hair.
And while there’s nothing wrong with the apparel (I get the whole schoolgirl-Lolita vibe), the bags are in a class of their own. The first 3 ain’t bad at all, especially the classic Bow Satchel in green.
The last one however (priced at SGD2140 by the way), with the huge chunky front-lock clasp similar to the one Ms Lott was photographed carrying in London, somehow failed the semester in my opinion.
Here’s another variation of the same bag but with embellished metal blooms that retails for SGD2690. It’s not exactly hideous (and on a good day I’ll even say it is cute), but I can’t quite put my finger on it. So tell me guys, what do you think?

thx for blogging abt miu miu bb! well, i’d say perhaps the last bag’s proportions r not exactly aesthetically pleasing to e eye. appears rather toy-like even? but yes, the bow satchel is lovely!

Could it be that it reminds of those secret gardens in stories with ‘evil’ meat-eating plants? The Tim Burton type of flowers. Very dark.

The buckle is humongous for the bag but you can tell that’s a deliberate play of proportions. Like a doll with a giant head…

What? But I love that bag! I love that it’s an oversized turn lock closure, I love the size too, not big but roommy… the flowers I am not such a fan of… but this has been the year of Miu Miu! I guess I am saying that because I adore it!
Oh yes, and the Matelasse Satchel in the second picture… it’s to die for! I am not a fan of gold hardware so I love how it has both gold and black hardware…. and the Edera bow bag… well, as someone said above, it’s calling my name!!!!! thanks for blogging about this!
