Pre-Fall 2010 Womens Dior

It is pretty obvious John Galliano channelled WWII for the Pre-Fall 2010 Womens Dior collection, one that should evoke imagery of blackouts, air raids and the general gloom of being in a war. Yet he manages to somehow make the entire collection look luxurious and desirable all at once; bow leggings here, fur cuffs there.

Even some of the bags are given the same ‘austere’ treatment’, like this Dior Granville in gorgeous Olive.

Other more straightforward pieces in the collection include the metallic leather helmet (is anyone actually going to buy this?) and the gorgeous leather Spy Bootie that’s going to be a definite hit.

And for the conservatives (or those opposed to wars of any kind in general), we’ve got classic pieces that fit the theme (think Marlene Dietrich or Mata Hari), war heroines who were both glamourous and sensual. Or Casablanca (the movie) for that matter.

Lovely, aren’t they?
