Bagaholicboy Muses #203 – The Gods Of Gabbana
I think the title of this post more than aptly conveys how I feel about these 4 gorgeous models who strutted down the runway for the Spring-Summer 2011 Mens Dolce & Gabbana show yesterday in Milan. Besides Annie Lennox’s magnificent performance, the other highlight for me was David Gandy and gang’s distracting physical attributes.
A third (and perhaps the most important) highlight for me was the seeing the pieces close-up and realising that they could be worn in our local context (ie. Singapore’s hot and humid tropical weather). Pants with ruffled waist lines and rope belts, shorts and swimming trunks with drawstring pulls make a lot of sense in a country where it can be scorching one minute and wet the other.
Sure beats bermudas and flip-flops (which I am also personally guilty of) anytime.

Please, this is the most uninspiring show so far (apart from the horrible Calvin Klein). If designing is about sending down half naked models, then I am very afraid for the future. While far from horrible, it’s just bland.
Hmm… I am just terribly distracted by the hot, half-naked male bodies. Sorry, I’m just shallow like that LOL
There were a lot of very very nice pieces in this collection and I found the woven duffel bags to be VERY interesting – are they leather or some canvas material?
Agreed! I’m not sure on the bags, I’m praying hard it is woven straw or bamboo and thus cheaper.
