The Cambridge Satchel Company Satchel
I actually caught this on my Twitter account; Person A announcing she was getting one, and Person B going it’s really lovely. Intrigued I followed the link and this is what I found. The Cambridge Satchel Company makes leather satchels like the one shown above that was snapped during Milan Fashion Week by GQ. Classically English, these schoolboy satchels are still a staple with boys (and girls) in England.
Available in a wide range of sizes (they range from 11″ to 15″) in an even wider variety of colours, they start from GBP66 (for the 11″ satchel) all the way to GBP76 (for the 15″ one).
Like I’ve just mentioned, they come in a wide variety of colours, including Yellow, Navy and Pink (shown above). You can even customise the satchel with your own name or initials (for an extra fee of course). The best thing? They ship all over the world, including Asia, which means you guys here can order online and get one for yourselves too!

I love it! I’m planning on buying the oversized Mulberry Alexa bag for school, but I’m almost changing my mind when seeing these bags. I will definitely buy one for my daughter when she starts school.

This pretty much illustrates why I think of the Mulberry Alexa as very London, and the PS1 as very Lower East Side.
That said – I’m holding out for my Alexa.

Had all along wanted such school satchel/backpack especially those worn by the Japanese schoolchildren in Japan since I was in primary school. ONE MAJOR DISADVANTAGE of these Cambridge satchels is that they don’t come with magnetic clasps where the buckle is more of a decorative piece. Wah, I can’t imagine myself going crazy every time unbuckling these satchels when I need to dig out my hp!!!!

The embossing is lovely and it’s so affordable. I did my homework and learned there was no way I could get a bag of this style, of this quality, for this price, anywhere else.

I ordered one of these as a present 8 weeks ago and am still waiting for it and I have had my credit card debited the day I ordered. All I can say is if you really want one then be prepared to wait and just hope that another fashion ‘must-have’ doesn’t come along in the meantime.
Dear BB, thanks to this post of yours back in May, I easily got myself a batchel from the Cambridge Satchel Company. I waited two months for it. I am now excited to take it for a spin.

They’re going all the way to across the EU continent to Asia! I was fascinated by Mulberry Alexa… now THIS. GBP20 extra for shipping is almost NOTHING compared to the ridiculously-marked-up Mulberry here.
Major concern is, Batchel in Vintage Brown or Dark Brown or Black? (I am looking to use it as a work bag).
All 3 colours are nice, but Black is too predictable and Dark Brown is kinda blah. Vintage Brown!
