Lady Dior Blue
John Galliano’s third instalment (after Paris and New York) sees Marion Cotillard in Shanghai; the Lady Dior Blue in arm, the iconic Pearl Tower in the background. Shot by Steven Klein, Shanghai was picked by Galliano because it ‘is a such a vibrant and inspiring city’. And that’s not all. A short film by David Lynch (titled ‘Lady Blue Shanghai’) will premiere on 15 May 2010 online, the same day that the Cruise 2011 Womens Dior collection is to be shown in Shanghai.
Suitably, a new bag was also launched in conjunction with the campaign. The Lady Dior Blue, which comes in either patent lambskin (shown above) or matte lambskin. An icon of Dior, the Lady Dior comes in a variety of sizes and leathers, but this particular piece was made for that glamourous evening out. Retailing for SGD3600 each, both are now available for viewing and purchase at Dior boutiques at ION Orchard and Ngee Ann City.

Anybody else think this Shanghai gig sounds too familiar? Chanel’s showed at Shanghai, recorded a mini-movie there etc. Just not very original, and the world expo is not an excuse. Snatching the cannage/quilt typology wasn’t enough?
just feel shanghai’s now overhyped. love the blue hue, but not the backdrop.
