Casio G-Shock X-Large Vivid Colour Collection

I remember way back in the early 90s when I was a wee lad I had one of these. All the rage back then, I had the ’safe and boring’ version in black (I was serving National Service back then) and it did its job. Rugged, ‘manly’ (giggles) and kept time pretty well. After National Service I went on to complete my diploma at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and somehow along the way I either misplaced it or it was stolen (can’t really remember, doesn’t really matter).
Fast forward to today, and Casio has just launched their new Casio G-Shock X-Large Vivid Colour collection. I never remembered the G-Shock being so ‘loud’, not that it’s bad or anything and somehow I’m strangely drawn to one of them. Not the ones shown above; the GA110A (orange or yellow with vibrant parts) or the GA11oB (single colour face, panels and hands in lime green or cyan) which incidentally retail for SGD170 a pop.
The one that caught my eye had to be the limited edition piece, the GA110F, which is basically a cross between the Transformers and the Care Bears. Priced at SGD225, I think I’m absolutely smitten with it. I guess the bigger question now is; yay, or nay? Would it just look absolutely ridiculous on me (given my advanced years) and just a vain attempt at trying to relive my childhood?
Or do you think it’s fine? And please be honest.

No it’s not ridiculous to wear, but it looks more suitable for collection than being practical. It’s limited edition after all, and after wash and wear it just become… Less attractive?
Not really, bb! I can understand why you like it though, cause it is really attractive, but it probably would look a lil ridiculous and stick out like a sore thumb?
Make a statement with it! It should match anything you wear!
Go for it! It’s loud as hell and definitely a statement piece. I’m sure with your sense of style, you will be able to carry off the watch, not let it carry you.
dress down on clothes and bag, and match it with the watch.. definitely an eye catcher! G-shock is too big for me, otherwise i may consider it.. haha

The Limited Edition GA110F is nice. The more I look at it the more interesting it gets. Really, if it appeals to you, go ahead. Get It. It is LIMITED edition…

Actually its more of “Transformers meets Rainbow brite!” hahaha!… but I think you can pull it off nicely.. definitely a statement piece I might say! Yay for me!
Actually I don’t think you should go for it! It’s so cartoon-y that it goes just beyond satire / tongue-in-cheek and becomes a bit comedic. I’d go for one of these Casio calculator watches instead… retro without going all-the-way cartoon..

I got the exact same responses but weird thing was that I dun think I ever did see it up for sales at all altho the staff @ g-factory confirm that the 1st batch were all snapped up ..

I collected mine yesterday and I love it! Call any City Chain to reserve if you are keen, last I heard they are only left with 10 pcs! It’s about $224 after discount.
Which City Chain did you get it from?
I bought mine from Vivocity outlet.
Try the city chain in northpoint…They have not got it yet but i reserved mine with them…the stock coming in in a week or 2….not sure how many they have so i suggest u reserve them…Can’t wait to get mine….
got mine on the 21st last mth and it was also from citychain. Apparently, each boutique was only allowed to have one, for that batch of shipment. I love it and I know ppl love it too, i keep getting compliments, even from strangers. I hope you will get/got yours, BB!
