Brahmin Mellie Flap Handbag
If you guys have been following me on Twitter, or hanging out at my Facebook fan page you would have already known that recently I received a huge box from FedEx that contained 4 sample bags from American brand Brahmin. No stranger to this blog, Brahmin stepped up and sponsored a lovely tote for my anniversary giveaways last year.
This time round, it was just as straightforward. The PR person contacted me, asked for my address and said she was sending me 4 bags for my review. Whether I choose to review them or not was eventually up to me, a gesture which I appreciated. I could also keep all the bags (or choose to give them away to my readers) which was also wonderful in my opinion. I hate to be being given something only to be told I have to fulfill a giant list of demands.
But back to the post at hand. 50 of you on my Facebook fan page have already ‘tagged’ yourselves for a chance to this, the Brahmin Mellie Flap Handbag which is also the 1st of the 4 bags I received that I’m going to cover. Basically a flap handbag with an attached shoulder chain/leather strap, it measures 28 cm by 19.5 cm. Retailing for USD245 each (which also makes it really affordable in my books), I love how it comes packed with extras on the inside, including 2 zip pockets, 2 flat slots and a pair of pen loops. The one I’ve got is in White, though it also comes in Zinnia (Red), Daffodil (Yellow) and Willow (Cream).
A word of caution though, this baby weighs quite a bit even when it is empty, and I blame it on the amount of the leather used, which also ends up making it soft and smooshy at the same time. Now that’s what I call taking the good with the bad. Also, I would prefer sticking the shoulder strap into the bag and using it as an oversized clutch instead, which is so ‘in’ this season.

I love it because of its elegant design and its lovely colour which reminds me of cotton candy-sweet yet tempting. It would be a lovely day with this chic and feminine bag.
I love the clutch for its versatility where it can be used as a clutch or carried on the shoulders. The compartments within this gorgeous clutch will keep my things organised at all times! And I don’t have a white bag and would definitely love to own one!
What do I love about this bag? It’s chic and feminine at the same time, my mom loves it as much as I do (which means we can share!) and it will look so good with my casual assembles or a little cream floral dress for Spring!
It’s design is graceful, witty & sophiscated. Any women will quckly fall in love with it. I am craving for it!
Ahhh something elegant something nice tho im not sure it fits well with me (large) size… hehe but i love it that its white coz im sure it will goes well with most outfits and that it will definitely be an eye cathcher when im in the train..
I jst went to their website for a closer look. I like the white 1 da most. It looks less boring with a hint of earthy brown colour. Classic yet modern as the same time. Love the pleating on the flap, totally makes the bag to stand out. Absolutely gorgeous.
This bag looks gorgeous!!! I fall in love with the design and colour. The size is great so I can use it either way carry on shoulder or as an oversized clutch, depends on my outfit.
Little Miss Mellie is casual, cool and chic. Its sophistication is so effortless, it looks good even when thrown carelessly to the back. Now that’s how I would like to stand out too.

I love that it has a simple but elegant look to it. The color is very spring/summer. The straps looks easy to use over the shoulder, without difficulty. Also, what’s attractive is the blend of the hardware with the pleats in the front. Feels easy on the eyes for a timeless piece. Also looks. Like an east bag to dress up or for casual use.

It looks very chic and classy; understated and not too over-the-top. I usually go for loud, flashy bags but this is the exception – I actually quite like the toned-down design here! Even so, the pleats and the loops near the buckle closure actually lend an unexpected touch to the design; so it doesn’t look too plain and predictable. It definitely looks like a bag that can take me from work to play!
I have a total of 4 bags, all serving for different occasions. But this bag? Perfecto for any and every occasions! Lemme have this and I swear I will use it 24/7!
You know why guys hate carrying their girl’s bags? That’s because they have not carry a chic beautiful bag yet! This is for my girl, whom’s dream bag is a Miu Miu Coffer. I can’t afford that YET but I sure can put a wide smile on her face with this bag?
