Spring-Summer 2010 Womens Balenciaga

January 30, 2010   |   44 Comments

This post is actually way overdue, considering that most of the pre-Spring colours are already out in the market. Then again, better late than never, right? So what are this season’s colours? From the top we’ve got Sorbet, followed by Cyclade and other colours including Castagna, Papeete, Outremer, Sahara and Sang which you can either view at Balenciaga’s online site, or at HGBags which is quite fully stocked now with most of the colours.

Along with the pre-Spring colours, there will be 3 more coming in March 2010 and they are Olive, Canard (a really dark blue) and Moutard (dark yellow like mustard). Personally I’m eyeing a Balenciaga Weekender in Olive myself which will also make it my third. I started with Automme in S/S09, it has been downhill ever since. For F/W09 I got Tempete and after that I told myself I’d get one every season. Trust me when I say this, but these leather beauties can be very, very addictive.

Some new styles have also been introduced, including the Balenciaga Sunday, a roomy tote that comes in 2 different sizes. Then there is the Balenciaga Papier (shown above), a flat tote with very thin handles that I’m not extremely keen on. You can check them out at HGBags which ships internationally as well. In fact, enter promo code ‘PINK’ now at checkout to enjoy free worldwide shipping for a limited time only.

Anyone out there bought anything from the pre-Spring collection yet?

    Dear BB
I’m thinking of buying my first Bal – but can’t decide between a classic black or raisin. Its more for work purposes, so I thought these 2 are safe colours.

I am quite petite too, and not sure if the Giant Covered Work or City is better for me, any advice?

    • Bagaholicboy says:

Hey Coreen, if it is purely for work (and work is rather ‘serious’) than stick to Black. If not Raisin is fine, so are those in shades of brown and grey. The B Work is rather big, you can even fit a small laptop into it. Again it depends on what you’ll be primarily using the bag for. Also check on the B Part-Time which comes in somewhere between the 2 in terms of size.

hi BB, i am thinking between these 2 bags

    1) Vert D’eau brief
    2) praline city SGH

which do u tink its a better choice in the long run?
    thanks!

    • Bagaholicboy says:

Most definitely SGH City in Praline! Go for it!

      • bellem says:

thanks for ur reply!! do u know how i can go about protecting bbags since praline is such a delicate color n im so afraid of stains and color tfrs!

heard loads about appleguard and LMB but im not sure which pdts to get. Was thinking of getting the LMH for the handles.

  • daisyp says:

  • AD says:

Urban section of the Straits Times recently ran a series of articles on what they consider to be iconic bags. Was quite disappointed with their choices, and was wondering if you could share your list of must-haves

  • Sam says:

Hi BB!! i would like to know how much does a Balenciaga Giant Part time there? I’m planing to purchase one when i get there next month…

  • bellem says:

Dear BB, I would just like to enquire if its really true that Bal is stopping their production for GGH.
I am really hoping to get a black city with GGH sometime in future but m so afraid that they wld stop production for it alrey.
    thanks

    • Bagaholicboy says:

They are not pushing out all the S/S10 bags in GGH (Gold Giant Hardware) that’s true, since SGH (Silver) and RGGH (Rose Gold) are more popular now but I know they are still producing Black and Anthracite with GGH.

      • bellem says:

oh that’s great news! I called bal hilton about a month back and the sales lady told me that they would not bring in anymore black GGH! I hope she’s wrong. m gg to call tmr n try again.

        • Bagaholicboy says:

Well, it could be true that Singapore will not be bringing more in due to stock allocations, so I would advise you to look for it beyond our shores…

          • JPW says:

BB, have you seen the Balenciaga Town in Canard? What are your thoughts on the bag? Need some insight before I purchase it. Thanks!

  • Anonymous says:

BB … is it cheaper to get the balencia city in Paris or to get my fren working in Club 21 to buy for me with the staff disc?

  • Jean says:

Hi BB, i have a friend going to Milan next month and i’m thinking of getting a Balenciaga bag. Is it cheaper to get it from Milan or from HGBags?

  • Sheena says:

Hello BB, i’ve been craving for a Balenciaga Giant Part Time for the longest time. Finally I think i might be able to get one as anniversary pressie from the boyfriend!

Which colour from the latest collection would you recommend if i’m looking for a timeless piece (and hopefully not many people will sport carrying)? I’m torn between the Canard and the Palm Tree. Hear from you soon!

    • Bagaholicboy says:

Canard is nice but having seen it so many times I’m not exactly loving it as much as Palm Tree (Olive) for sure.

I also like Outremer… that shade of blue is stunning too!

Take a look here as well, quite a few S/S10 Balenciaga bags that belong to my readers, just as a reference.

Hi BB! I’ve been looking for a city/PT in tempete for quite a while now but couldn’t find one. What color do you think is closest to tempete?

Also, i’m thinking of buying an outremer or ciel or cyclade instead if ever i’ll give up on finding a tempete. Which do you like best? Thanks!

  • DB says:

Hi BB, can you recommend legit online stores that possibly carry Balenciaga Sunday? Barneys has sold out and HG doesnt carry it anymore, my bad cos i’ve just found out your blog recently, very nice work btw.

  • Aria says:

hey BB, would a Bal Work be too big for me? considering i’m only about 1.54m tall.. this is gonna be the 1st branded bag i buy for myself, and i want it to be something that will last and that i won’t regret buying..

i’m toying with the idea of a balenciaga or celine luggage.. but the luggage seems too old for me?
