Louis Vuitton Monogram Idylle Collection
I’m not exactly sure why Louis Vuitton is calling it what it is, but I’ve checked the press kits and look books twice over to make sure I got it correct. Officially referred to as the Louis Vuitton Monogram Idylle collection, it comprises 2 new bags as well as 2 reinvented classics. First up, we’ve got the Louis Vuitton Monogram Idylle Elegie, which resembles the Monogram Mini Lin Angele that came out last year. Available in 3 colours including Fusian (shown above), Encre (bluish-gray) and Sepia (dusty-pink), this tote will retail for SGD2030 once it is released in March 2010.
Next there is the Louis Vuitton Monogram Idylle Romance, a single-handled hobo that can be ‘closed’ by latching the buckle. On each side is a deep side pocket. Also available in the same colour palette I’ve mentioned earlier, the one shown here is in Encre, or the bluish-gray version and retails for SGD1960.

May I present the Louis Vuitton Monogram Idylle Speedy30 Bandouliere which comes with its very own removable/adjustable shoulder sling. I know many of you have been waiting for a version like this to launch for the longest time and well, your prayers have been answered. Measuring 30 cm by 21 cm, I also like the fact that it comes with double zippers on the top, a feature not seen in a regular Speedy. It will also come in all 3 colours, including the ones in Fusian and Sepia shown above and will be priced at SGD1650 each.

And last but not least, another reworked classic, the Louis Vuitton Monogram Idylle Speedy45 Voyage. No guys, I did not make a mistake. It is really known as the Speedy45, and not the Keepall45. I’m guessing this is so because the entire collection is primarily targeted at the ladies and therefore they decided to give the luggage piece a name with a feminine ring to it. Feminine or not, I’m personally keen on the one in Encre, just need to see it in person and see if I can pull it off. Priced at SGD2120, this is the 2nd bag from the Spring-Summer 2010 Womens Louis Vuitton collection I am eyeing. Not good at all if you ask me…
The Monogram Idylle collection is tentatively set for a March 2010 launch, but I will update the blog as soon as I get any more updates.

i guess its still technically a Speedy because the handles are only attached at the top and does not go all the way around like the Keepall KWIM?
Yes I get what you mean! Thanks!
haha. i was thinking of the same thing! i like the 45 myself too.
yea, DD is rite. and BB is right too! it is meant for the females!
such a beautiful collection… i want them all!
is the speedy limited? or will it be a on-going item?
This is really a breaking news! Loving them!
That Speedy is gorgeous… is it a sin to own more than one Speedy?
Of course not!
I prefer the Mini Lin Angele.
Love the speedy with extra adjustable shoulder strap though.
I like the style of the Elgie, but I’ll prefer it in the old Mini Monogram finish…
I’m in LVOE with romance, it’s perfect bag for my next collection, still havent decide which color should I pick, Pink or Bluish gray.
they are already up on the UK website, wonder when will they hit our stores?
Any update on the launch date??
I might get shot for this, but the bags are still not sparking up any desire to purchase any of the bags!
these are denim yes?
Yes they are!
Just a quick update guys, the Monogram Idylle collection has officially been launched in Singapore!
i just saw these yesterday. they’re alrighttt i guess. not exceptionally stunning or to die for.
that Speedy 45 is GORGEOUS!!!
Another question, for the Speedy, does the extra connecting strap comes with the round leather thingy to hold the strap in place?
I’m sorry, but I do not really understand your question. The removable shoulder strap can be clipped on via the rings on both sides of the Speedy.
something like the belt hoop whereby it holds the end of the strap in place if it is too long?
Yes, it does. If you look at the image closely you will see it there.
love it… do i need to call lv to make reservations??? haven’t seen it but i love the mini lin but it was discontinued already. is speedy 30 ok or should i get speedy 45? which one do u prefer?
Just go down to your local boutique and take a look, there is no need for reservations. Both sizes are very different, one is more like a handbag, the other a travel duffle.
oh yeah, 45 is too big for handbag. thanks for the tip…
would like to know compare btw idylle and normal canvas LV, which is more durable. and seems like idylle’s material is not that easy to maintain….
You’re right. Monogram Canvas (or any other coated canvas patterns within LV) is easier to maintain, given that it is coated. Monogram Idylle is a fabric material, so it will come with the usual pains of using fabric bags.
Hi, do you actually sell these bags? Sorry, I’m new and this is the first time I’m in love with branded bags esp. this collection!
No I don’t sorry!
I am thinking of getting the Monogram Idylle Speedy but one question since the material is canvas. Will the bag be out of shape after much use?
Yes, over time the canvas becomes ‘tired’ and starts to get limp. You can always use a purse organiser on the inside of the Speedy to keep it ‘plump’.
I bought the speedy at $1580 in Singapore.
The Speedy30 idylle is now S$1630 (as of 20 August 2011) in Singapore.
Thanks for the update Sharon!
hi, may i know which color u recommend for the idylle speedy? i cannot make up my mind…
If you’re asking me, I’m all for Sephia, with Encre in close second.
