Fall-Winter 2009 Mens Tod’s Press Presentation

June 1, 2009   |   12 Comments

I had the honour and privilege of attending the Fall-Winter 2009 Tod’s press presentation today which covered the upcoming collections for both men and women. It was definitely an eye opener for me and I throughly enjoyed myself. It’s also heartening to see brands like Tod’s reaching out to bloggers like me and giving me the opportunity to enjoy/examine/experience all the gorgeous goodies up close (trust me, it’s much better than a press kit filled with printouts and a CD).

But before I digress any further, let’s get back to the post at hand. One of the gems that I saw today at Tod’s was the vintage-styled leather doctor’s bag (shown above). Large and roomy, I could not help running my fingers up and down its supple body. It was also amazingly lightweight which is always good, especially since carrying a weekend’s worth of clothes won’t be such a chore anymore.

Next, we’ve got the Tod’s Pashmy Stripe collection which got me pretty excited as well. Consisting of 3 different bags (casual brief, duffle and tote), all are made from the same high-tech fabric that’s light and soft. And that’s not all, each bag can be customised to your personal taste. For example, after deciding on the bag you want, you can pick the colour of the body (choose from Black, Chocolate, Graphite and Midnight Blue). After that’s decided, you can choose the colours of the leather stripe which includes Sun/Electric Blue (on duffle) and Orange/Chocolate (on tote).

The celebrated Tod’s J.P. Loafer is another icon reinterpreted for the upcoming season. Embellished with a Tod’s coin inserted in the toe cap, the one above (which is also my favourite) is in croc-embossed suede. Lush.

I also love these gorgeous babies, especially the one on the extreme right in Dark Brown with the trim in Blue. I also adore the fact that each shoe had a T (for Tod’s for course) embossed on the corner. I do not have the prices of anything just yet, so stay tuned for more updates. And ladies, fret not, I will be posting up the women’s collection in the coming week.

Thank you Tod’s, thank you Directions M&C! It was a blast!

Hi there, I’ll be entering uni soon and should like to know your recommendations for a bag for school? I’m looking at Balenciaga but i’m unsure what size i should get. I’ll definitely wanna carry it for school but i don’t want it to appear overwhelming. I’m 1.65m btw, would really appreciate your help! Also, any other items you recommend getting from Paris cos it’s cheaper there right?

wow, loving the doctor bag AND the idea of personalization on those bags. it is such a trademark for tod's to have that leather strip at the center…

NICE PICTURES…..and thanks for all he details…especially about how you can customize the PASHMY stripe tote bag. That is such smart idea for them to do….alot of brand are coming up with ingenious ways of offering customizing pieces and with a little effort they have such exclusivity among the other luxury brands!

I would love to sport a customized TOD'S bag as briefcase…assuming it's not to big for that

The antique duffel shown is also offered in a natural leather that is so typical of TOD'S color.

Thanks again for the awesome pix!
