Chanel Paris-Moscow Métiers d’Art 2009 Collection

Last year was all about London, and this year Karl chose Moscow as his muse for the pre-fall Chanel Paris-Moscow Métiers d’Art 2009 collection. Dedicated to the capital city that long captivated Gabrielle Chanel, who reportedly had an affair with a cousin of Tsar Nicholas II, it was opulence and extravagance personified.
Imperial Russia never looked so good, and one particular bag you’ve got to check out is the 2.55 Romanov, a luscious confection of boiled wool in Ivory, clad in a myriad variety of medals and brooches inspired by the empire’s coat of arms.
I’ve seen it, and I love it (regrettably I do not have an image yet) but it is definitely worth a look-see, even if you can’t afford the SGD10,000 or so asking price.
Another noted piece is the Chanel Paris-Moscow Russian Doll, which was seen toted around town by singer Lily Allen. Clearly it’s something you either love or hate, especially with the almost SGD5000 price tag.

I love chanel most and i love matryoshkas!
i do so hope i can afford this!
