Bagaholicboy Profiles #12 – 10 Essentials: Spencer Nikosey

April 20, 2009

I honestly don’t know what’s sexier about this man, the fact that he is good with his hands, or something he revealed to me in a recent email exchange when I asked him what’s most important in his life and I quote, ‘Waking up everyday next to my girlfriend. The most beautiful woman’.

Presenting Spencer Nikosey, founder of Killspencer and my current ‘mancrush’ of the moment (if Zac Efron can have one, so can I). And here are his 10 essentials…

10 Essentials: Spencer Nikosey
1. Distilled SF makes some quality stuff and I like their hooded shirts. I also like simple and understated solid color tees.

2. Classic grey Vans tied and cut at the knot worn without socks like we do in the summer out here in Los Angeles, and my Oxfords from Maison Martin Margiela, wooden heel, brown leather, mmm…

3. Paul Simon‘s Graceland.

4. I only wear Naked & Famous, superthick indigo selvege with a natural worn back left pocket from my Moleskine sketchbook.

5. Moleskine sketchbooks. I have a collection of at least 90 of these filled cover to cover with anything and everything worth writing down.

6. McCann’s Steel Cut oatmeal topped with Vermont’s Hillsboro Sugarworks fancy organic maple syrup. Yum.

7. I don’t wear any jewellery, except a keepsake of my grandfather’s which is a piece of equipment he used to use while working in the TV industry back in the day. It is strung around my neck via a waxed rope and I don’t know what it is other than a piece of metal that goes inside a vintage light meter. It means the world to me.

8. A quick fix for my A.D.D is my Apple iPhone 3G.

9. I’ve read all 13 of Seth Godin‘s books… I’m a devout fan, Robert Greene is dope and Ovid is always classic.

10. My favorite bag is the first messenger I ever made… before it was Killspencer and I wear it everwhere.

that oatmeal is the best! i used to seek it out in tokyo at the one store that carried it there. it reminded me of home, although no one sells that brand here in canada!

more topically… the kilspencer brand is beautifully presented online. kudos mister.
